Situation de départ et défis
In der Produktion der RONAL GROUP liefen zahlreiche industrietaugliche Terminals, die vor allem eine einzige Anwendung benötigen: die IBM-i-Emulation bzw. eine interne Web-Applikation.Trotz des geringen Funktionsumfangs war auf jedem Terminal ein vollwertiges Windows-Betriebssystem installiert (XP bis 10). Dies brachte:
- des fonctions inutiles (par exemple, des jeux comme le solitaire)
- longs délais de déploiement : installation de l'image & configuration finale ont duré ≈ 4 heures par appareil
- des coûts élevés de maintenance et de sécurisation (stratégies de groupe, restrictions USB, personnalisation du menu de démarrage)

️ Mise en œuvre avec openthinclient
Dans un premier temps, différents concepts de clients légers et fournisseurs ont été examinés. Le choix s'est porté sur openthinclient, car cette solution répondait à plusieurs exigences centrales :
- Démarrage PXE, lancement automatique des applications, échange rapide (< 5 min.)
- contrôle centralisé en mode kiosque
- Réutilisation des terminaux Hematec robustes (-20 °C à +60 °C)
Exigences techniques
Toutes les exigences techniques qui ont été posées à un système informatique industriel ont pu être mises en œuvre.
- Déploiement rapide : démarrage réseau via PXE, gestion centralisée de la configuration
- Haute sécurité : interfaces USB verrouillées, OS en lecture seule
- Maintenance minimale : aucune mise à jour locale nécessaire, remplacement en quelques minutes.
- Évolutivité : DE, MX, CZ, PL, autres usines possibles
Conclusion et feed-back
L'utilisation est si convaincante qu'openthinclient a entre-temps été défini comme standard à l'échelle du groupe pour les environnements de production.
- La disponibilité de la production augmente considérablement ; les coûts de panne et d'arrêt de production diminuent.
- Les frais d'administration sont réduits au minimum : console centrale au lieu de la gestion manuelle des clients
- Amélioration de la sécurité informatique : pas de programmes superflus, pas d'extraction de données par USB.
- Focalisation des collaborateurs sur les activités principales - plus de „passe-temps“ au terminal.
- La solution a fait ses preuves et a été définie comme norme de groupe à l'échelle du groupe.
„Supposons qu'aujourd'hui, un terminal tombe en panne dans la production. Alors je vais à l'entrepôt, j'en prends un nouveau... je fais une réservation IP sur le DHCP et je le crée dans le gestionnaire openthinclient. Tout cela prend environ 5 minutes avec le démarrage et le trajet à pied, puis le collègue peut continuer son travail. Avec notre ancienne solution Windows, rien que l'installation de l'image prenait environ quatre heures“.“
