company history
1999
Levigo (then Cogito Informationssysteme GmbH) deals extensively with the topic of server-based computing and is active in the market for Linux based thin clients. Levigo sells IBM equipment and installs the hardware for the customers.
2002
IBM unexpectedly pulls back from the thin client market. Instead of the promised investment protection, customers are now facing a loophole. Levigo uses this market niche and develops its own platform independent thin client manager. With Linux levigo opts for a non-proprietary operating system for their thin clients.
2004
A completely reworked user interface for the thinclient manager is released to the market.
2007
Levigo systems makes the now powerful thin client software suite consisting of the thin client OS, the thin client manager and the thin client server as open source software at openthinclient.org available.
2008
As a commercial version levigo systems offers customers a tested version of the thin client software suite including support. For optimal use now own thin client hardware models are available in various designs.
